Erin Holland

Erin Holland has studied various forms of African dance for over 20 years, from countries such as Ghana, Guinea, the Ivory Coast, South Africa, Cameroon, and Haiti. She is inspired by the incredible energy of the live drumming and the sense of joy and community that engaging with these songs brings.

For over 10 years, she joined Curtis Andrews in the Newfoundland performance group, Dzolali, which focused primarily on the rhythms, songs, and dances of the Ewe people in Ghana. More recently, she has studied with Guinean dancers and drummers.

In Newfoundland, Erin has taught African dance classes to people of all ages. Most recently, over the past three years, the ArtsNL program has been an exciting opportunity for her to combine her love of dance and drumming with her passion for teaching, performance, and cross-cultural exchange.
